Christina Rosetti

She was born on december 5, 1830 London. Christina Rossetti was born to Gabriel Rosetti and Frances Polidori.

Rosetti and her family struggled to cope with her father's illnesses. In1843, he was diagnosed with persistent bronchitis and lost his sight.

Rossetti sat for Dante Rossetti's most famous paintings. In 1848, she was the model for the Virgin Mary, The Girlhood of Mary Virgin.
